PATERSON, NJ — Community members, local leaders, family, and friends gathered on June 13, 2026, to celebrate a powerful and inspiring milestone: the official launch of Francisca Núñez’s first book, an autobiographical work that chronicles her life journey, personal struggles, and experience as a survivor of domestic violence.
The event was held at King’s Artful Xpression, located at 92 Washington Street in Paterson, New Jersey, owned by Darryl Harris. The venue welcomed a large audience eager to support Núñez as she shared a deeply personal story of courage, perseverance, and hope.
From the beginning of the program, the atmosphere was filled with emotion and admiration. Francisca expressed heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support she received from the community, many of whom have stood by her side throughout her journey.
“This book represents my life, my struggles, my tears, my faith, and my determination to keep moving forward. It is a message to anyone who has faced hardship and needs to know that there is always hope and healing ahead,” said Núñez during her remarks.
Visibly moved by the turnout and encouragement from attendees, she thanked everyone who contributed to her success and supported her through difficult times.
One of the highlights of the evening was a special recognition presented by Paterson Councilwoman Ruby Cotton, who honored Francisca both for the publication of her book and for her birthday celebration.
Councilwoman Cotton praised Núñez for her strength and determination, noting that her story would inspire countless individuals facing challenges in their own lives.
“Francisca has demonstrated extraordinary courage and resilience. Her story is a testament to perseverance, and her book will serve as a source of encouragement and hope for many people,” said Cotton during the presentation.
Although Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh was unable to attend the event due to prior commitments, he sent an official Citation of Congratulations along with a special message recognizing Francisca’s achievement.
In his message, Mayor Sayegh commended Núñez for her willingness to share her personal experiences and use them as a source of inspiration for others.
“Francisca Núñez embodies the strength and resilience that define our community. Her courage in sharing her story will inspire many individuals facing adversity. I congratulate her on this remarkable accomplishment and wish her continued success in this new chapter of her life,” the mayor stated.
The reading of the citation and congratulatory message was met with warm applause from the audience, underscoring the significance of the recognition.
Among the distinguished guests in attendance was Haledon Mayor Michael Johnson, who praised Francisca’s determination and described her as a role model for others.
“Francisca Núñez is truly an example to follow. Her ability to transform pain into strength and purpose is inspiring. Her story reminds us that no matter how difficult life’s challenges may be, it is always possible to rise above them and move forward. I have no doubt that her book will touch many lives,” said Mayor Johnson.
The event also featured Guest of Honor Marisol Rivas, founder of the Marisol Rivas Foundation, who congratulated Núñez for turning her personal experiences into a message of awareness, empowerment, and hope.
“Sharing such a personal story requires tremendous courage. I believe this book will inspire and encourage many individuals who are facing difficult circumstances in their lives,” said Rivas.
Throughout the evening, attendees shared words of admiration and support for the author. Many described the book as more than a personal memoir, calling it a powerful testimony of faith, resilience, and the human ability to overcome adversity.
Special appreciation was extended to all members of Grown Folks Talking Express Yourself PPN (Vision Impaired) for their continued support and encouragement throughout Francisca’s journey.
Recognition was also given to Kilo Effect, the event’s videographer, for professionally capturing the memorable moments of this special celebration.
The event concluded with a book-signing session, photographs, and personal conversations with the author, creating a warm and uplifting atmosphere that reflected the community’s admiration and respect for Francisca Núñez.
